Empower Your Students to Become Mathematically Fluent Learners
Who: All PreK-12 Teachers, Special Education & TSP Teachers, Classroom Assistants, RSP/MTSS Coordinators, Coaches & Administrators are Welcome!
Come join Sarah Kingston and Barb Blanke for a day packed full of math, collegiality, and fun. Receive numerous resources that empower your students to become curious and competent mathematical learners at all levels. We will explore fluency progressions, models and strategies needed to build confident and efficient mathematicians.
- Experience routines that foster sense making & meaningful practice
- Explore problem solving strategies that WORK!
- Discover the power of writing & journaling in math
- Nurture mathematical fact fluency and understanding through the use of visual models & strategies
- Receive and explore a NEW FREE book: "Figuring Out Fluency in Mathematics Teaching and Learning, Grades K-8: Moving Beyond Basic Facts and Memorization" by Jennifer Bay-Williams & John SanGiovanni
- Snacks & coffee, lunch provided!
Your Choice! Three different locations, Friday or Saturday Options (Choose one - all dates & locations are the same training)
- Friday: You obtain your sub via your school/district policy, and you have a PD day at the end of the week to learn and engage with other county educators and still have a two-day weekend! (no stipend offered)
- Saturday: No sub plans to write, and you will receive a $250.00 stipend for spending your Saturday Learning together!
