Career Technical Education
Helping prepare today's students for tomorrow's workforce.
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at Mendocino County Office of Education bridges the gap between classroom learning and career success.
The California Department of Education defines CTE as a program of study that involves a multiyear sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide students with a pathway to post-secondary education and careers.
MCOE Services
CTE Programs are established after considering Labor Market Information (LMI), and community input related to local workforce development needs. MCOE staff can help you access up to date LMI and determine relevant CTE pathways to address local needs.
In order for your school’s CTE efforts to be accurately reported to CDE, pathway courses must be assigned the best CALPADS code. We have staff available to assist your school with choosing the best CALPADS code for your courses and pathways.
CTE Incentive Grant (CTEIG), Perkins V and Strong Workforce Program (SWP) are the most common funding sources for improving and expanding CTE courses and Pathways. We are here to assist your school with applying for these grants.
