MCOE ASES Consortium (KUDOS 4 Kids)

Empowering students through expanded learning opportunities.

Mendocino County’s Kudos for Kids Expanded Learning Program (K4K) is a collaborative project led by MCOE with the goal of providing a comprehensive array of out of school learning opportunities for students attending 12 schools in 6 Mendocino County school districts. This consortium is funded by the state After School Education and Safety (ASES) grant.

Mendocino County’s vision of an exemplary Expanded Learning Program is built on a strong belief in the potential and resiliency of youth as embodied in the program name—Mendocino County Kudos for Kids (K4K). Promoting healthy development in all aspects of a child’s life, including recognizing their efforts and their progress, can have a significant impact on academic outcomes. K4K is designed to provide children with academic assistance and support in a safe and nurturing environment, and to give students individual support and recognition that can lead to their academic and personal success.

MCOE is the Local Educational Agency (LEA) for the ASES grant for this consortium. Districts may have additional funding and will be the LEA’s for the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC).

To enroll a student in the K4K program, please contact your school office directly.
