MCOE Capacity Development Offerings
We offer mentoring of new teachers whether they are in a credential program or not; instructional coaching to implement evidence-based strategies or refine instructional practices or customized support based on a sites need.
- New Teacher Mentoring
A 6-8 week program that includes co-planning, model teaching, co-teaching, or direct classroom observation with feedback from a coach. - Short-Term Instructional Coaching
A focused 4-6 week coaching cycle targeting specific goals or instructional strategies to help teachers refine their practices. - In-Depth Follow-Up After Professional Development
A 6+ week support plan to ensure educators can effectively implement strategies and insights gained during PD sessions. - Customized Support
Flexible coaching and mentoring tailored to meet individual educator requests and site-specific needs.
MCOE Principals Network is for school leaders to share insights, tackle common challenges, and participate in professional development tailored to the unique demands of school administration. In the 24/25 school year meetings were held quarterly.

Teach Lake County is a convenient, caring, and customized teacher preparation program designed for teacher and student success in rural, high-poverty schools.
MCOE partners with the Teach Lake County program to provide supervision for Mendocino County based intern teachers in their Fieldwork courses.
