The Young Authors’ Faire (YAF) is designed to inspire elementary school students to write, edit, and publish their own stories.
Schools can apply for award funding by completing the YAF Proposal Form (below). Schools that have participated in this program report significant improvements in students' writing skills and a deeper appreciation for literature.
This program seamlessly integrates into daily writing activities, encouraging students to create and publish their own books. Funding is often used to bring authors to schools, where they share their work, discuss the writing process, and motivate students to tell their own stories. Schools frequently host special events to celebrate the students' achievements.
November 15, 2024 - Deadline to be considered for funding
November 22, 2024 - Funding awards will be determined
May 1, 2025 - All invoices must be submitted to MCOE
