Medical Pathways
About
The Institute of Career Education is supported by the Mendocino County Office of Education and offers courses in Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy. These are college level courses that are of interest to individuals desiring to work in the medical field.
If a career in health care appeals to you, then consider dental assisting. Dental assistants take on significant responsibility as a valuable member of the dental health care team. Assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health care. If you have strong communication skills, enjoy working with your hands, as well as your mind, and want a career with responsibility, dental assisting is for you.
This class offers instruction in dental office procedures, practices, standards, and ethics. Students will learn all aspects of front office and chairside assisting.
After successful course completion and eleven months of work experience, students qualify to apply as State Registered Dental Assistants (RDA).
