Foster & Homeless Youth Services

Foster and Homeless Youth Services assists and enhances district programs to improve the educational outcomes for students experiencing homelessness or in foster care. Our program provides support to district liaisons, superintendents, and school personnel as issues arise with specific students. We advocate for students and the effective coordination of services with child welfare, probation, court appointed special advocates (CASA), child’s attorney, judge, foster families, foster family agencies, group homes, school districts, and other available resources. We monitor transcripts for credits/graduation, assist with special education services, appropriate school placement, and team decision making for children returning or leaving Mendocino County.
